Rise and Shine

As a high-achieving Christian woman, you are a force to be reckoned with. Do you realize that you are destined to be a game changer and kingdom advancer just by thriving in your area of expertise? That is not to add pressure but positivity. Your light should not be dimmed. You are driven, motivated, and passionate about making a difference in the world. But in the midst of your busy schedule and long to-do lists, it's easy to forget to prioritize your mental health and well-being.

In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus says, "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house." This verse reminds us that as a Christian woman, you are called to shine your light for all to see. However, if you do not recognize when you feel anxious or allow perfectionism to progress, you will put a dimmer on your destiny.

But what does this look like in practical terms? Here are a few ways you can unleash your light as a high-achieving Christian woman without growing dim:

- Prioritize your prayer life: Despite your busy schedule, prioritize your prayer life: This will help you stay grounded and focused on what's truly important.

- Use your gifts to serve others: Your talents and abilities are not just for personal success, but for serving others and bringing glory to God. Look for opportunities to use your gifts to make a positive impact in your community and the world around you. This prevents you from becoming self-consumed. Make time, don't add more stress, but carve out time to connect with other high achievers who want to make a difference in the lives of others. You can help others shine through your contributions.

- Surround yourself with a supportive community: Having a strong support system is crucial for high-achieving women. Seek out other Christian women who will encourage and support you on your journey. Connecting with those of like minds will help you create more self-awareness and accountability to ensure you are not pushing yourself past reasonable limits. You can give this permission to each other to discuss when you recognize the signs of burnout. This is powerful because it means you must be aware of the signs in order to help someone create boundaries; if you would like to host a support group for yourself and a few high-achieving friends, I would be happy to lead and support the group therapeutically.

- Take care of yourself: Taking care of your physical, emotional, and mental health is essential for living a life that honors God. Make self-care a priority, and don't be afraid to ask for professional help when you need it.

I am here to offer that help as a therapist. When you are your best, God gets the best from you.

Remember, your light is meant to shine brightly for all to see. Don't hide it under a bowl – put it on its stand and let it radiate for the glory of God!
