You got this, and sometimes you need a reminder. When it doesn't seem like you can get a grip, I want to encourage you to G.R.I.P. your confidence:
Ground yourself in truth
Remember your wins
Identify your strengths
Press forward with purpose
You've accomplished other great things before, and this will be no different. Pull on that experience. Remember the progress you've made so far and leave the perfection behind.
Even if your hands are shaking or your voice trembles, you’re still moving. Confidence isn’t about having it all figured out, instead it’s about choosing to keep showing up anyway. As long as you don't bow out of the race because you think you can't win, you're good and moving in the right direction. You may not be first but it's important to finish.
So, take a deep breath. Reconnect with who you are and not who you think you have to be. The have to's cause stress. Try and find another reason to get the task done that will inspire you. "I am doing this because it will make impact for my clients." "I get to do this because of the skills and talents I've been chosen to use." Give yourself permission to take the next step, just as you are.
You’re not starting from scratch, but you are building on strength. Take a look over your shoulder and remind yourself what you've already accomplished and continue to action each day, even if its messy. Just a quick glance back will remind yourself of the progress you made and the foundation you are building that confirms what you are capable of doing.
Take this with you: You’re stronger than the self-doubt and steadier than you feel. Keep pressing forward.
