Are You Growing or Being Distracted?

When you make the decision to start growing in your life, there will be distractions. Some will be immediately recognizable, and some will come in familiar forms that do not appear to threaten your goals. Sometimes distractions come disguised as comfort, old habits, unnecessary conversations, fear, or even people who are used to the previous version of you.

Everything that pulls on your attention is not assigned to your future. Some things are simply sent to interrupt your focus, delay your healing, or keep you emotionally exhausted enough to stop planting into the life you envision.

Be mindful of what continuously takes your energy away from what you are called to cultivate. Healthy growth requires intentionality. What you water consistently will eventually grow.

That is why therapy is important. Therapy helps you become more aware of the distractions, patterns, wounds, and thought processes that may subtly be affecting your growth. Sometimes people think they are stuck because they lack discipline, when in reality they are emotionally overwhelmed, unhealed, or mentally exhausted because they give in to distractions that rise up like weeds.

Healing helps you recognize what no longer belongs in your life so you can stop watering things that are working against the future you desire. You can cut them off or stop giving life to them.

Therapy is not weakness. It is intentional work toward becoming healthier, clearer, and more aligned with the growth you are nurturing.

Therapy is a seed. With time, consistency, and intentional work, it produces harvest.
